Fontainebleau - Solo show at Bisualeko Montevideo, Uruguay, 2021 “Produced in 2021, these pieces are influenced by compositions the artist constructs and deconstructs by experimenting with compositions and counterforms in his most comfortable medium — collage. Carrau is able to project his studies by using thick acrylic to mimic the layering of paper, creating depth and shadows.
Born from his elevator trips up and down the Fontainebleau building in his hometown of Punta del Este, Fontainebleau takes inspiration from the decor present on each floor. With a distinctive 80’s aesthetic, Carrau produces hard-edged, simple yet elaborate compositions.”
